Siying Zheng, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, graduated from the Department of Biology at Nanjing Normal University in 1954. She was promoted to Professor in 1989 and appointed as a Doctoral Supervisor in 1993, becoming the first female doctoral supervisor at Suzhou Medical College. She is a recipient of the Special Government Allowance from the State Council. Her main research areas include the dose-effect relationships of chromosome aberrations and micronuclei induced by X-rays, γ-rays, and neutrons; the mechanisms of radiation-induced chromosomal damage in somatic and germ cells; the genetic toxicology of radionuclides such as enriched uranium and ¹⁴⁷Pm; as well as HPRT gene mutation analysis and the application of fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) in radiation protection. She has published over a hundred academic papers and contributed to the compilation of university textbooks such as Medical Radiobiology and Medical Genetics. Her work has been recognized with six ministerial and provincial-level Science and Technology Progress Awards, along with one provincial-level Science and Technology Progress Award.
